Wicked Wort Brewing | The Blind Tiger

Wicked Wort Brewing | The Blind Tiger

A speakeasy, also known as a blind pig or blind tiger, is an illegal establishment that sells alcoholic beverages.  Such institutions became popular in the United States during the Prohibition Era in 20's & 30's. During that time, bootlegging of alcoholic beverages was illegal throughout the United States.
Speakeasies largely disappeared after Prohibition ended in 1933, and now is a term used to describe retro style hidden bar.  Modern speakeasies are often small and almost impossible to find bars with an intimate crowd and a good time to be had for all.  Wicked Wort Brewing is just that; a chummy crowd drinking great beer having a good time.

In the heart of downtown Robbinsdale, MN lays Wicked Wort Brewing a family owned brewery established in 2014. Their speakeasy-inspired taproom features a 10 tap system consisting of 3 flagship beers and 7 rotating taps. There is always something new to try between the rotating taps and our always changing infusions. The SDS members will be lucky enough to get their hands on their latest infusion recipe called Savage Citra an extra pale ale.

Their taproom is located in an old TCF Bank, which was built in 1967 in downtown Robbinsdale. In 2015, Wicked Wort reconstructed a portion of the old bank into their taproom and demolished part of the building to make room for the dog-friendly patio. The taproom also features two unique bars from the 1930's & 40's keeping the speakeasy vibe.

Do yourself a favor when you are in the Twin City area of Minnesota and go to Wicked Wort Brewing for a wicked good time.  Enjoy all 10 of their beers, free popcorn and don't fall in the giant hole of their floor!  Note: 21+ Only!
