MobCraft Beer | Bat$h!t Crazy Coffee Brown

MobCraft Beer | Bat$h!t Crazy Coffee Brown

MobCraft Beer turns ideas into beer.  In 2013, founders Henry Schwartz and Andrew Gierczak began their dream of a crowdsourced brewery where the people decide what’s brewed. If you have an awesome beer idea or recipe, you can submit your idea on their website & see if it gets voted thru to brew!  The voting starts on the 1st of the month and ends on the 21st or until pre-sale sells out, whichever comes first. The beer with the most pre-orders wins and is brewed, packaged and available for pickup at the brewery.  All of their winning crowdsourced recipes are available in the website’s Recipe Vault

The MobCraft Beer taproom in Milwaukee, WI offers 25 tap lines featuring flagships, crowdsourced beers, beers from their Wild & Sour Program as well as a variety of taproom only releases. The spacious taproom boasts views of their brewhouse and wild & sour room, as well as numerous games for families & big kids alike.

The MBC is run by a bunch of hardworking people united by beer! It is their goal to make sure you have a great exbeerience. MobCraft Beer would be nothing without this dedicated team of Mobbets. If you see them in the wild be sure to say “Hi”!  They would love to answer any questions you have or just enjoy a beer with!  Submit your idea, vote on what's next!

The beer we decided to highlight is a 2014 GABF Silver Medal Winner in the Coffee Beer category which is called Bat$h!t Crazy Coffee Brown (Love the name!).  Unfortunately, BJCP guidelines doesn't have Coffee Beer as a category but we will use the base beer of an American Brown with a specialty in Spice, Herb and Vegetable beer.  The American Brown base beer overall impression is a malty but hoppy beer frequently with chocolate and caramel flavors. The hop flavor and aroma complements and enhances the malt rather than clashing with it.  In judging and creating a SHV beer, the brown base beer shouldn't be covered by the addition of the coffee but compliment it.  This particular brown may not have the traditional American hop flavor and aroma but a good single dose of Nugget will do the trick.  This allows the coffee to shine as well as not creating a bitter bomb as coffee can add bitterness to it.  Knowledge has been dropped!

Now go get Bat$h!t Crazy!
